This week I had a great time flying to Germany with the CMYUK Consumable sales team to meet with our textile manufacturer Berger Textiles. We were trained on not only the materials by application, but also given an insight to where Berger see the market growing next year and why they are always working hard to develop new materials! (Plus many beers in the Xmas Market after!)
The one area that we were very impressed was the amount of hard work and research gone into improving and providing the best backlit materials for Dye Sublimation. Berger have in house a range of UV, Latex and sublimation machines along with a large sewing facility where they can not only test the material from a print side, but also how it finishes. This is why Berger textiles have a well established and successful range including the infamous UV backlit textile Be.Tex Samba FR which is the most successful worldwide. One major subject the team cant stop talking about is how amazing the Backlit textiles that are being developed are, and after seeing the colour saturation and perfect back-lighting from the range of dye sub textiles to be shortly released we were just simply stunned!
I am aware of issues dye sub printers have with producing solid black colours, no bleed, no pin holes and ensuring it finished well with no shrinkage -and although we like many other suppliers already have a range for Dye sub backlit applications, they are not the perfect solution for the reasons above, however I can confidently say that when Berger release 3 new textiles early 2016, it will be a true game changer for alot of dye sub printers and CMYUK will have the best backlit textile for dye sub in Europe!
The 3 materials to be released are 2 great blockout textiles (1 for Dye sub and 1 for UV) and one truly stunning backlit textile to be released in January.....
